Swiss pharma company Geigy was famous for its graphic design, with Karl Gerstner, Armin Hoffmann and other "Swiss Style" masters working for them. Here's a flexi-disc from one of their promo record series for Medomin sleeping pills (designer not credited). More Medomin-records in my next post.

Sounds of the space age
The last part (so far) of our little flexi fever series takes us to outer space. Visually much more interesting than aurally. Zoom in, it's beautiful.

The updated realistic rock drum method (on flexi-disc!)
Even more flexi-fever: The updated realistic rock drum method. Has a weird format between 7" and 10" and features a not-so-tight drummer. Anway, here's exercise 1 from page 34, in case you want to update your realistic rock drum method a little:
Drum Method by dispokino
There will be one more post in my little flexi-fever-series (and then it's christmas).

Musik für eine Cigarettenlänge (on flexi-disc)
More flexi-fever: This flexible wonderful promotional gift record for the long gone cigarette brand Priméros contains "music for the duration of a cigarette". The hissing, crackling, popping, the missing frequencies and the distortion add so much to this already highly evocatice story, don't you think?

flexi-discs from the eastern block in primary colors
I found these years ago, possibly in Berlin. All three are labeled with the Melodiya logo. The blue one is easy listening instrumentals, label in cyrillic. The yellow and and the red one are from the GDR youth magazine "Frösi". The yellow one contains songs from the FDJ (the official GDR youth organisation), among them the infamous (yet catchy) who-is-not-with-us-is-against-us hymn "Sag mir wo du stehst" ("tell me where you stand"). The red one is a feature about the conquest of the Kosmos.
All run on 33 1/3 and are double-sided.
